Glaive is a quarterly magazine dedicated to gaming and the subcultures surrounding its various forms of expression.
New indie video games, skirmish and tabletop roleplaying games, cult classics; Glaive celebrates games of all types. Gameable TTRPG content, interviews with creatives, advice, and opinion pieces catalog diverse voices and experiences alongside art and design steeped in the DIY sensibilities integral to our hobbies. Glaive curates an archive of current happenings in our communities, amplifying those making waves and capturing the fleeting moments shaped by today's independent tastemakers.
Some examples of what can be found in an issue of Glaive are:
- Featured stories tackling new movements in our hobbies and noteworthy events.
- Interviews with movers and shakers within our scene that are focused on new and fringe ideas.

RELEASE SCHEDULE
Glaive will be releasing quarterly, giving a few months between issues so that the next one has time to develop.
- Q1 Issue: Released in January.
- Q2 Issue: Released in April.
- Q3 Issue: Released in July.
- Q4 Issue: Released in October.
Hothead Collective has developing relationships with awesome local game stores and aims to build new ties with more of these community staples. Distribution for Glaive will be both in print; in the US, UK, and EU; and digitally through our website and other social platforms.
PROJECTED READERSHIP
While this is a new magazine, we do have experience with periodical publications. Our free D&D 5E online magazine, Elysium, released 5 volumes over the past year working with a team of around 7 contributors. As that readership base grew we learned a lot and our final release reached around 800 downloads.
Now with our first print product, Grand Rituals, finishing fulfillment both via direct purchases and wholesale; we feel confident with a target of between 500 and 1,000 readers for the first issue of Glaive.
